Increased security measures
Day-to-day access to the Park and
individual buildings
You are reminded that, increasingly,
individual buildings at Adastral Park have their own door
security systems. In some cases, such as Orion Building,
different systems apply to individual floors.
This means that if you are visiting
somebody in those areas, you will need to arrange to meet
them at the entrance to the building or floor. Equally,
if you are inviting visitors you should make appropriate
arrangements.
By default, all visitors to the Park
have to be "escorted" and met at the Park reception building
unless they have an acceptable Park pass in their own right.
To alleviate congestion at reception,
the general BT ID card is now acceptable for general entrance
to the Park, although it must still be worn and clearly
displayed. The BT ID card can also be worn by people based
here in lieu of the Adastral Park pass.
Working "out of
hours"
February 2002
We are tightening security measures
outside of "normal working hours". For this purpose, these
are defined as 07:00 to 21:00 Monday-to-Friday.
If you intend working on the Park
at any other time - including anytime over the weekend -
you will need to register in advance with the Adastral Park
security office or you may be refused entry to the Park.
This is not only a security measure but also a health and
safety issue regarding lone working.
The relevant form, which needs to
be completed and faxed to the security office by 16:00 on
the date needed (15:30 on Fridays), can be obtained HERE
Following feedback received to the initial posting of this
bulletin, we will delay introducing these measures until
March 25th. In the meantime, any further feedback on how
we might streamline the process is welcome.
